Waterford is a quaint and beautiful mixture of past and present. A community in Norfolk County, located just south of Simcoe that can trace its history back to 1794, when it was originally established as a grist mill, it was earlier named Sayles' Mills, Sovereign's Mills, and Lodersville, before finally enjoying it's current name in 1826, when the first Post Office was opened. With just over 3,000 people calling Waterford home, this small town offers some big amenities!

Waterford is located on the old Canada Southern Railroad, and though the line is now idle, it was once the main line of transportation between Ontario, Buffalo, New York and Detroit, Michigan, and responsible for much of the town's economic prosperity.

The area surrounding this tranquil and picturesque town is primarily agricultural land, with a rich blend of tomatoes, tobacco, and corn among the chief crops. Other natural health and organic crops are being explored as well… namely ginseng.

But this town offers much more than just beautiful scenery. It is the perfect place to raise your family, or to spend your later years, once your kids have moved out! During the middle of October, the community celebrates Pumpkinfest, a local celebration of pumpkins. A huge "pumpkin pyramid" of 1500 carved pumpkins is an annual tradition for this fun fall festival. An annual car show and a soap box derby are some of the other attractions at Pumpkinfest.
